Set an intention for your practice
Setting an intention is a way to help tune out the thoughts that may come carousing into your mind.
Whenever we do a balancing pose, one of the first suggestions my teachers make is to choose a focal point, which is another way to tune our distractions.
Set your Dristi
My intention and my focal points are never the same items, but they both provide the same benefit – a way to clear my mind of clutter and focus on the moment at hand, permitting me to be in the moment.
